Children develop at a very individualized rate so as a parent, you will know if your child is ready for their first JAFPAM learning diary. As a rough guide I would recommend children from ages 3-5 would benefit from the daily use of this product.

You can expect your child to have exposure to the following:
Letter names and sounds
Sounding out CVC words
Common Tricky Words
Learning to recognize numbers from 1 - 30
Days of the week
Daily weather observations
Reflection skills
Simple science experiments
Simple body exercises
Identifying groups of items
Rhyming words
Simple household tasks

If your child is able to engage verbally then watch you fill out the pen to paper side of things then yes, it is still beneficial. Think of all the words children pick up on when they watch TV or listen to people around them. They are clever little creatures and there is equally as much hands on content as there is writing content throughout the JAFPAM diary to accommodate the learning styles of little people.

There is no right or wrong time to complete this diary on a daily basis. Having routine is very helpful to make sure things get done but in saying that, the best intended routines don't always go to plan.
It could make sense to fill it in sometime in the morning to start your day off with an activity but it may not be convenient for a working parent to get this done if they have to be out the door first thing in the morning.
My only advise on this would be that some of the practical type activities may not be appropriate to complete right before bed so perhaps read ahead the day before to see how you can fit the next day into your schedule.
